insurance reimbursement

Sometimes massage therapy can be covered by your insurance company, usually if you have a referral from a physician or specialist. Try to get this first and have ready.

If you're paying out-of-pocket for your session and want to get reimbursed by your insurance, Reimbursify makes it simple! Just follow these steps:

✅ Step 1: Download the App

Start by downloading the Reimbursify mobile app on your phone. It’s free and available on both iOS and Android.

✅ Step 2: Create Your Account

Open the app and sign up for a free Reimbursify account.

✅ Step 3: Get Your Superbill (Receipt)

You'll need a copy of your receipt or superbill from your session. This should include:

  • Date of service

  • Practitioner info

  • Diagnosis and treatment codes - ask your therapist for this!

  • Fees charged
    We’ll provide this upon request!

✅ Step 4: Start a Claim

  • Open the app and tap the orange “+” button on the Claims screen to begin.

  • Select the patient (yourself or a family member).

✅ Step 5: Select Your Visit Date(s)

Pick the date(s) the service was provided. You can select multiple if the codes and fees were the same.

✅ Step 6: Upload Your Receipt

  • Take a photo or upload a PDF of your receipt/superbill.

  • Use the crop tool to focus only on the document portion.

  • You can add multiple photos if needed.

✅ Step 7: Add Your Practitioner

  • If we've been added before, select our name.

  • If not, tap “Add a new Practitioner.”

  • Enter the NPI number (found on your receipt) and select our name.

  • You may also need to enter our Tax ID (EIN)—also listed on your receipt.

✅ Step 8: Enter Diagnosis Code(s)

  • Found on your superbill (usually starts with a letter, like “F41.1”)

  • Tap "Add" to save each one.

✅ Step 9: Enter Service Code(s)

  • Found on your superbill (always 5 digits, like “97124”)

  • Add the fee for each service (after any discounts).

  • Optional: Add units (like 15-min increments for Massage Therapy - so 60 minutes would be 4 units).

✅ Step 10: Review & Submit

Double-check your claim, then tap "Submit". That’s it!

Note: You may be prompted to add payment info if this is not your first claim.

📬 After Submission

  • You’ll receive an email confirmation from Reimbursify.

  • Claims typically take 30–45 business days to process.

  • Watch your email or mail for an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance.

You can track your claim status anytime in the app:

  • “Sent to Insurance” tab = submitted

  • “Processed by Insurance” tab = completed
